1st January 2004 Kite buggying - boarding: Manchester Wind Direction: west north west Wind Stength: reasonable Surf / Sea State: there was a puddle! Air Temperature: cold Sea Temperature: probably cold Weather: windy + damp Max Speed: Distance Covered: brushed the cobwebs off the buggy in a bid to try wind therapy on my new year hangover. realised very quickly that my blurred vision warranted the 3m radsail and nothing bigger. Launched the kite and was confident about the pull, fastened my lid on tight and sat in the buggy. Without so much as a by your leave I'm travelling much faster than anticipated straight through a puddle and a concerning amount of dog mess. When I settled in, I felt the familiar warm glow of adrenalin which thankfully sorted my vision problems and resulted in a pleasently good hour of terrorising new year dog walkers.... They had the last laugh though, poo covered wheels and fair dollop on the frame which was removed using the absorbant qualities of a passing spaniel's fur..... only joking. Good start to the new year! |
